In Béziers, designer and builder Pierre-Paul Riquet’s craddle, you’ll find the major
construction works along the Canal du Midi, “Europe’s wonder” as they called it in XVIIth century. The Fonseranes 9 locks form a real water staircase, the whole difference in height being 21,5 m over a 300-m length.
A few miles away, the canal bridge reflects in river Orb... You can visit this beautiful site on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or... by boat !
